ERBUD will build an operations and service base in Łeba, which will service offshore wind farms Baltic 2 and 3. The value of the order is PLN 67 million. In total, in the onshore off-shore segment, ERBUD has already won six contracts worth about PLN 674 million net.
As part of the acquired order, Erbud will build office infrastructure, a remote command and control center for offshore wind farms, a warehouse for spare parts and a wharf for mooring vessels on the revitalized port area. The construction is scheduled to begin in March 2025 and be completed in mid-2026.
The realization of the service base in Łeba is the next stage of the strategic construction of offshore wind farms Baltic 2 and 3 - a joint venture of Equinor and Polenergia - for the Polish energy sector. The base will be built on a 1.5-hectare plot of land, so there will be room for further expansion. Ultimately, the facility will be able to accommodate four vessels simultaneously transporting workers to service the farms at sea.
The base's buildings will be powered in part by renewable energy from its own PV panels, and the interiors will be heated thanks to heat pumps. In addition, the buildings will be equipped with recuperation systems, as well as rainwater collection and utilization.
- This is yet another project that Equinor entrusts us with in the onshore part of offshore wind farm infrastructure. This proves the high quality of our work and competence in this important market segment for the Erbud Group. We see great potential for development here and an opportunity for further diversification of our business. It is estimated that investments in the Polish offshore will be worth about PLN 40 billion in the coming years, a third of which will be for onshore work. By 2030 OWFs are expected to produce 6 GW of power and 10 years later already 18 GW. We want to be a major player in this rapidly growing market, says Jacek Leczkowski, vice president of ERBUD.
To date, ERBUD Group has secured 6 contracts in the onshore offshore segment. Their total value is PLN 674 million. The largest of these is an order from the Baltic Towers for the design and construction of a production hall for towers for offshore wind power on Wyspa Ostrów in Gdańsk. The contract is worth PLN 358.4 million.
