The company PBDI S.A. headquartered in Toruń, a 90% subsidiary of ERBUD S.A., signed in consortium with Mosty Łódź S.A. a contract for the construction of a section of the S3 expressway from Kamienna Góra to Lubawka. The total value of the contract is PLN 715.2 million net, with the share of PBDI S.A amounting 50%.
The contract covers a 15 km section of the S3 road from the Kamienna Góra Północ junction to the border with the Czech Republic (Dolnośląskie province). The task will be carried out by the winning consortium as a Design-and-Build project within 31 months from the date of signing the contract, excluding winter period from 15 December to 15 March.
Initially, the offer of the consortium of Mosty Łódź and PBDI was ranked sixth on the list of companies interested in the construction of this section of the S3 road, at a price higher than the lowest by PLN 107 million net. During the selection of the contractor by the Customer, there were subsequent voluntary withdrawals from participating in the tender and rejection of offers made by GDDKiA - General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (including two rejections of Astaldi’s offer, which was cheaper by over PLN 48 million net), and the tender was won by the consortium of Mosty Łódź and PBDI.

Aggregates and their availability are usually a significant problem in road contracts in Poland, but in this case, it will not be so severe due to the large number of quarries in the site area and relatively easy transport. It is also worth adding that Mosty Łódź was already a PBDI consortium member during the construction of the Southern Service Road in Legnica. The cooperation between us was exemplary.
