ERBUD Group integrates its German business. New management board of ERBUD Holding Deutschland

The German company of the construction tycoon has two new CEOs. ERBUD Holding Deutschland is now led by Dieter Babiel and Andreas Schmitz. The new CEOs will report directly to the management board of the ERBUD Group in Warsaw.

Dieter Babiel is the former HR and strategic development director of ERBUD in Germany. Before that he held e.g. the position of the chairman of the German Construction Industry Federation and the head of HR departments in international corporations. Andreas Schmitz is the current CEO of the ERBUD Group companies in Germany: IKR GmbH, based in Bitterfeld, and IVT Weiner + Reimann GmbH in Oberhausen.

“We have been successfully developing business in Germany for over 30 years. Handing over the management in ERBUD Holding Deutschland to Dieter Babiel and Andreas Schmitz fits perfectly into our development strategy. They are experienced managers who perfectly know the potential of German ERBUD companies and the local market. The company's priorities, values and ambitious business plans do not change. We want to grow in a sustainable way, being a significant player on the European market,” explains Dariusz Grzeszczak, Chairman of the ERBUD Group.

ERBUD Holding Deutschland GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of ERBUD S.A. The company supervises the German companies that are part of the ERBUD Group: IVT Weiner + Reimann GmbH and IKR GmbH (suppliers of high-quality industrial services) and ERBUD Holding GmbH Shared Services (service provider for MOD21 GmbH).
Dieter Babiel points to the great potential of ERBUD on the German market: “Our advantage is a diversified and innovative portfolio, especially in future-oriented areas, such as modular timber construction. We have set ourselves ambitious goals that we want to achieve as quickly as possible in a sustainable manner,” says Dieter Babiel, CEO of ERBUD Holding Deutschland.

Andreas Schmitz is thinking about new acquisitions in the industrial service sector.
“The incorporation of my company IVT from Oberhausen into the Group in 2018 was a great success, and last year's acquisition of IKR from the German giant, Bilfinger, further strengthened our portfolio and geographic coverage of maintenance services. We are planning further development in this area,” says Andreas Schmitz, who combines the functions of the CEO of IVT, IKR and – since recently – ERBUD Holding Deutschland.

In January 2022, ERBUD announced the renaming of GWI – the ERBUD company with over 25 years of experience on the German market – and its inclusion in the structures of the MOD21 start-up, which specialises in the construction of wooden modular buildings: hotels, office buildings, halls of residence, hospitals, public buildings. The company wants to reach full production capacity in 2026, at which point it will produce about 100,000 m2 of total module area per year. In the first place, the offer is addressed to German customers – the value of the local market is currently estimated at over EUR 3 billion and is expected to triple in the next decade.

The development of the modular segment is in line with the long-term strategy of the ERBUD Group, which focuses on ecology and green transformation. ONDE, another ERBUD company, specialising in construction of renewable energy installations, debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in June this year. Both companies – ERBUD S.A. and ONDE S.A. – successfully passed a restrictive audit and certification process to be the first companies in the construction sector to receive the prestigious European environmental quality certificate EMAS.
