Why was the ERBUD Foundation established?

In the spring of 2015, we planned to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company's founding. We were all proud that the company was so old, had a stable market position, had professional and committed employees and were growing revenues and profits. We knew that maintaining and growing our business would surely face many more challenges. However, we also felt that we wanted to do something more, that we wanted to be proud not only of the wonderful buildings and roads we had built. Not only because we actively contribute to improving the air we all breathe, thanks to the construction of wind and photovoltaic farms or the modernization of the Polish energy sector.

The pandemic is not scary for us :). We have supported and continue to support our clients in the therapeutic area all the time. We are glad that despite the change to online form, our help still has the same power.
We are happy to see how people helped build trust and readiness to build lasting relationships with other people based on a therapeutic relationship. As they open up to the world, they begin to express their needs and feelings, confronting their sad beliefs about themselves and other people with the current reality. They slowly build greater resistance to difficult situations and feelings of injustice. They discover their authentic potential - both strengths and limitations, and learn to be the best, caring parent for themselves, which they often did not have the opportunity to experience. They begin to treat their needs as a signpost for development, thus gaining more support and self-confidence. Thank you for your trust and we are glad that our sessions are slowly moving to the real world :)

Specialists focus on those aspects that help find and maintain a satisfying job, build and strengthen good relationships with other people, and simply arrange your life - says Wojciech Woźny, who has been the Director of the Care and Education Facility in Chełmno for 18 years. Especially now, during the ongoing epidemic, we care not only for our patients, but also for medical facilities.
This time we helped the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Grudziądz, to which we donated a number of personal protective equipment and other accessories necessary in the fight against COVID-19.

We help and thank you for your help and commitment :) We are all struggling with the coronavirus pandemic. This difficult time is also a big challenge for orphanages. We provide ongoing assistance to orphanages cooperating with the ERBUD Wspólne Wyzywa Foundation.
Children's homes are a special place, for the children under their care they are a place of residence, a place of learning, rest and all everyday reflections and joy. However, they are also a place of work for caregivers and educators. The ERBUD Foundation would like to THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all people involved in the everyday life of orphanages. Thanks to your work and commitment, the pupils are ensured safe and stable everyday functioning :).

In this particularly difficult time, our Foundation remembers those under our care. After leaving the orphanage, Asia and her two wonderful sons were left without a roof over their heads.
They received a municipal apartment from the state, but unfortunately, due to its disastrous condition, it was not suitable for living. We want Asia and her family to be able to enjoy a real home as soon as possible, which is why we help equip this place.

The epidemic threat requires us to stay at home. However, we must remember that not everyone has a real home where they feel comfortable.
During this time, we remember the children of orphanages with which the Erbud Foundation cooperates. We provided the facilities in Pasłęk, Chełmno and Elbląg with bottles of antibacterial liquid for disinfection, masks and gloves.
We will also meet their needs with further batches of protective equipment and disinfectants. Children's home children need our support!

We don't stop working. Time flies so quickly, and we are almost halfway through classes at another care and education facility.
This time we learned the principles of communication and improved our competences in this area. All this to better establish relationships and bonds with teenagers, implement development goals and cause their personal and social development. Sometimes seriously, sometimes funny, even to the point of tears. We always work with great commitment to create a good atmosphere for conversation.

We are happy to announce that the Foundation. Eryk Grzeszczak "Erbud - Common Challenges" obtained the status of a public benefit organization (OPP). This means that we will be able to receive 1% of income tax from natural persons who want to support our activities by making an appropriate entry in their PIT declaration. Importantly, we will be included in the List of Public Benefit Organizations entitled to receive 1% in 2021, which means that the Foundation's support will be possible when settling taxes for 2020. If our mission is close to you and you want to help children's homes become independent, next year you will be able to donate 1%.

The goal of each culinary workshop participant was to prepare a real Italian pizza. Our little chefs approached the task very ambitiously, especially since each of them could feel like they were in MasterChef Junior and put on an apron with their name on it! The culinary competition was watched by the President of our Foundation and volunteers who had previously conducted classes with the children of the Children's Home in Marwica.

Our students from the Care and Education Facility in Chełmno took part in a charity event organized by Legia Warszawa. #EveryoneToOar! is the flagship campaign of the Legia Foundation, this time we rowed for the Mother and Child Institute Foundation - we helped raise money for the purchase of new, specialized hospital beds. The action was attended by, among others: president of Legia Dariusz Mioduski, football players and athletes from other sections of Legia, actors and journalists. Erbud was represented by a tight group led by President Dariusz Grzeszczak.

Children's home children often have problems with self-confidence and self-presentation in everyday situations, e.g. during job interviews...
We all know that self-confidence and communication skills are extremely helpful in building your professional career. That is why we want to help our clients develop such competences - so that they can freely and courageously enter the labor market. On Saturday in November, workshops on self-presentation and improving communication skills were organized for a group of the Foundation's beneficiaries. It was led by a Foundation Volunteer.

At the Foundation's invitation, participants of the "Recipe for Success" program and their guardians came to Krakow. The aim of the trip was to combine education with recreation and the opportunity to practice new competences acquired during the workshops...
The children had the opportunity to get to know and explore the new environment, but above all - the opportunity to take responsibility for planning their free time and managing the budget, which they coped with flawlessly. In the workshop work, we focused primarily on showing children that they can have plans and set goals for themselves - and their implementation will largely depend on them.

Our "Recipe for Success" program is constantly developing and evaluating. The program has been receiving very positive feedback and requests to introduce the program to new locations. However, we measure our strength against our intentions, gradually extending our care to subsequent children from orphanages. In October this year, we provide the program and care to the children and pupils of the Children's Home in Chełmno, and from January in Morąg. Of course, we continue cooperation with the Children's Home in Marwica. After completing the program, taking care of the needs of our clients, we do not end our cooperation, but only change its form, introducing individual support for the further development of our clients.

1On April 2, 2019, the third edition of the Charity Ball organized by the ERBUD Foundation took place. During the gala dinner, the Foundation's activities were summarized and a charity auction was held. The total income from ticket sales and auctions will be allocated to the further activities of the Foundation and to support our students.

The Foundation responds on an ongoing basis to the needs of students and educators of institutions participating in the RECIPE FOR SUCCESS program. This year, individual meetings with a psychologist were introduced for two children in crisis related to becoming independent and preparing to leave the facility, as well as training for facility educators, teachers and municipal employees on how to support children in mourning. This training is the Foundation's response to emerging situations of death of loved ones of the facilities' care recipients and the direct need for adults who have contact with children and young people to acquire knowledge.

We are halfway through the first year of the RECIPE FOR SUCCESS program. Our students participated in integration workshops aimed at introducing a sense of security, mutual trust and openness to cooperation. They improved psychological competences in the field of communication and also participated in creativity training. At the same time, educators began working on the ability to diagnose the resources and limitations of their students and construct individual work plans.

We started cooperation with the Care and Education Facility in Marwica and Pasłęk, where we launched our new original program "Recipe for success", run by Ewa Banach and Agnieszka Tkaczyk. We have also entered into cooperation with the Robinson Crusoe Foundation and together we are implementing the "Empowerment Vehicle" project in Toruń.

The Self-Empowerment Vehicle is launched in Toruń - our Foundation, together with the Robinson Crusoe Foundation, invited young people taking up the challenge of becoming independent to the first organizational meeting.

In the fall, our first joint Self-Empowerment Vehicle will be launched in Toruń. We will keep you informed about the next stages of our joint work. Next year, we plan to open a training apartment where our students will be able to try independent living on their own in safe conditions.

Another meeting of the Foundation's staff took place on Friday and Saturday. We have summarized the last months of our activities. It was also an excellent opportunity to share experiences and observations, as well as to think and plan what we can do better and how we can help more people in need. Therefore, we also focused on plans for upcoming actions. After more than two years of operation, we clearly see that, apart from individual help, systemic actions are very much needed. We would like to use the coming months to plan and pilot systemic assistance activities.

Our pupil – Łukasz moved into his new apartment. Last year, we supported Łukasz in his efforts to obtain social housing. Our efforts were successful and we could start renovating Łukasz's first independent apartment. As is often the case with social housing, this one also required major renovation.

Today our Foundation met with Mr. Aureliusz Leżeński, President of the Management Board of the Robinson Crusoe Foundation.
After the first few minutes of meeting, we knew that we were going on the same path and in the same direction.
That is why we decided to cooperate with the aim of helping as many young people as possible who, on the threshold of adulthood, take up the challenge of adult, independent life.

Another workshop and training meeting of the Foundation took place today. Our students had the opportunity to work on defining and achieving goals, under the supervision of psychologist Ms. Ewa Banach.
During this time, the Foundation's mentors could exchange their observations and mentoring experiences. The shared lunch was another good opportunity to talk and summarize the completed workshops.

On October 24, the ERBUD WSPÓLNE WYZWANIA Foundation took part in the First Forum of Corporate Foundations.
The Corporate Foundations Forum was organized by the Donors Forum and was the first event of this type addressed to representatives of corporate foundations. Its aim was to exchange knowledge, experience and good practices between foundations and to create a space for cooperation.

Today, another meeting of all people involved in the activities of the ERBUD WSPÓLNE WYZAWANIA Foundation took place. Our students took part in a workshop meeting devoted to sexual education. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Aleksandra Józefowska from the PONTON Sex Educators Group.

This month, Joasia started a driving course paid for by the Foundation.

Our pupils are preparing for independent life. A very important element of independence is the first job. That's why we are extremely happy that Ola has just started an internship in the accounting department at ERBUD S.A.

Having a driving license is the dream of most young people. For our pupils, this is also an important skill, the acquisition of which is associated with a significant cost. This month, Łukasz started a driving course paid for by the Foundation.

We met today to look for an idea on how to communicate the Foundation and the RAZEM Program. We tried to find a way to clearly and legibly present the goals of our Program. We set ourselves the goal of finding a short slogan that would immediately evoke associations with the implementation of our plans.
After several hours of discussion, proposals and analyses, we decided on the slogan: A SURE START IN ADULTHOOD.

This time, mathematics caused problems for Ola, two months of tutoring organized by the Foundation allowed Ola to deal with the problems.

Both we and our students are aware that learning, work and housing are the most important aspects. We want our children to have pleasant associations with adulthood and make them feel confident in new situations.

Therefore, our clients have the opportunity to benefit from beauty and beauty treatments and advice at the Beauty Clinic of Mrs. Anna Amroziak, in Warsaw at ul. Dembe 10/U3. In March, the Clinic was visited by: Joasia G, Joasia K and Łukasz. In April, Wiktoria took advantage of the Clinic's advice, and Łukasz again in June.

We have great news: Ola is moving out of the orphanage and will live in a sheltered apartment! The cost will be covered by the ERBUD Foundation.

It sometimes happens that mathematics is quite a challenge for young people, so our student Wiktoria needed support in overcoming mathematical complexities. We organized tutoring for Wiktoria, which allowed her to catch up with her studies in three months.
This month we also equipped our client Ola with winter clothes and shoes :-).

Our invitation was accepted by over 200 guests who learned what the Foundation does, supported the Foundation, but above all spent an unforgettable evening during which artistic attractions were provided by employees of the ERBUD Group - the Foundation's guests could admire dance and vocal performances.

Today is another great day, our Mentors from Toruń, Remek and Aneta, met their mentees Ola and Jędrek.
A joint bowling and pizza trip allowed us to get to know each other not only in the form of talking about ourselves, but also in moments of cooperation and competition.

Christmas is approaching, it's a time when we are all particularly sensitive to the needs of others. For our Foundation, the most important thing is the needs of our beneficiaries. That is why we have prepared financial support for them for the purchase of winter clothing. Each participant received an amount that they can spend on the most necessary winter accessories.

Today is a special day for our Foundation - we met our beneficiaries for the first time. On Saturday, a rather cold, rainy day, we met in Warsaw's Ursynów district: Mentors of the ERBUD WSPÓLNE WYZWANIA Foundation and our mentees. Despite the unfavorable weather, we spent a wonderful day together. There were games, fun, rebuses, a shared dinner and a "table football" tournament with cups and medals.

The third training workshop for Mentors, this time under the slogan Mentor's Workshop. Our Mentors learned and practiced basic mentoring tools. We also discussed the topic of coaching and asking coaching questions, we learned how to analyze feedback, how to discover talents and motivate development. An important point of the workshop was practical preparation to master difficult situations.

For our Foundation, we are acquiring another person with a big heart, but also with great and important experience in working with children from orphanages to become independent. Ms. Krystyna Juraszek joins us. A long-time director of an orphanage in Zakopane, who successfully made nearly 100 children independent. Krysia will not only be a Mentor, she will support our Mentors in their daily work with their mentees and, on behalf of the Foundation, she will cooperate with orphanages where the Foundation's wards stay on a daily basis.

The second training workshop for RAZEM Program Mentors. We learn about the specifics of mentoring work with young people. The issues that help us in this are elements of developmental psychology and the analysis of events potentially awaiting Mentors in their daily work. We are preparing especially diligently for the first meeting with the Mentee, establishing a relationship, activating positive thoughts and emotions, and preparing the basis for setting future goals and tasks of Mentor-Mentee cooperation.
